I completed my PhD in Solar Terrestrial Physics at Aberystwyth University (2005-2009) and since then I have held numerous research positions at various institutions, covering a diverse range of space science, including solar physics, geomagnetism, and the space weather environment. I also regularly write public outreach articles, especially for The Conversation.
Currently I am a research fellow in space science, working on data assimilation modelling of the ionosphere and thermosphere using the Advanced Ensemble Electron Density Assimilation System (AENeAS). In particular I am interested in utilising AENeAS for nowcasting and forecasting of ionospheric variability under a range of different space weather conditions. This is accomplished by comparing AENeAS output with ground truth ionospheric data from ionosondes.
